I took the Panasonic Lumix G9 and 100-400 on a bird photography expedition yesterday, of course the birds didn't play ball and so I decided just to do a little bit of photography. I spotted a red admiral butterfly sunning itself and flitting around the apple blossom tree. I managed a shot of it, the close focus of the large zoom lens is actually quite good. It makes it a nice close up One funny thing is I tried to take a shot of a small bird and the camera didn't seem to make any noise and I couldn't hear the shutter or focus etc. So I removed the battery and re booted the camera no success? I became a tad frustrated as I couldn't use the camera meaningfully so what should one do in a situation like this? Refer to YouTube of course! It was a small two position switch on the front of the G9 was in the 'silent' setting - doh! Anyway here are today's blog shots
