More nature close ups

More XF10 close ups and another tip......

The XF10 is a highly adaptable small carry everywhere camera and as I mentioned yesterday it has a reasonable close focus capability that can reveal some nice shots.
As I mentioned yesterday contrast detection autofocus can sometimes be fooled by leaves and backgrounds that are ‘busy’. Another tip I can offer is that you should change is the type of focus it carries out. If you go into the menu to option one “AF/MF setting” then down to “Focus mode” then down to “Single AF” this will only use the green focus box you aim in. The camera is set to default to a wider continuous AF and zone and this does not allow for easy focusing.
I have done some phone photos to show the menu changes too

Hope the above helps new users once again and below are some more photos

Fuji X100V Daily Photos

Fuji X100V Daily So I decided to build a blog about daily photos with my beautiful Fuji X100V I have been a Fuji X photographer for over 10 years and especially the X100. The fixed lens really helps with creativity This image was shot underneath my car port The top light really helped with the shadows I have found walking out and about with my camera a mindful experience, it helps you balance with nature and slow down in this difficult world. The leaves above seem to show sadness at the change of the seasons resting peacefully on a fallen tree  Exposure wise for those that are photographers 1/30 sec shutter speed f 3.6 ISO 500, it’s easy to handhold the X100V for a shot like this. I suppose some would ask why not use a phone for these shots? I understand this but being a photographer you need to use a camera!

Down to the park

Back to Hughenden park... A little picture heavy today but the sun was out and Hughenden park looked fabulous  Indi loves being out down there her tail was wagging quite a lot  It was a bit of struggle to get Indi into my car which is a Toyota IQ a great small runabout but not ideal GSD transport!

My bird and wildlife camera

I have kept with Olympus and now have an E-M1X an absolute beast in the M4:3 world. It came out in 2019 and was sold for a number of years, it been superceded by the OM1 Mkii but I still believe this is the king of the genre. Of course it's very large in this sensor world but very small compared to the likes of Canon or Nikon with a battery grip built in. I shoot macro and wildlife and of course my family. This camera performed so well in all these types of photography, below are firstly my latest examples of bird photography at which the cameras built in AI tracked the heron.
