Another new venture for MK1 Photography

I write to you on here like a friend that I discuss things with. I have been investigating trying out analogue film photography again, I stared with Olympus way back when I was 11 years old with a superb little point and shoot camera the Olympus Trip 35.

So with that memory firmly coming back into focus I have bought from eBay another camera it is an Olympus 35 RD Range finder circa 1975 I believe. I have yet to run a film through it but have bought from an online store a 24 exposure Kodak TriX 400.

Very soon I will plan to do one roll of film per month development on line and I will "scan" the negatives with my Olympus Em1x and 60mm Macro taking a photograph of each one.

I plan to record on images I take with the camera by recording my exposure as my phone has a lightmeter app on it. I will record this data and take a photo with my camera for viewers on here to enjoy. Below is a phone shot of the new addition

Merry Christmas everyone ⛄ 🎁☃️🌲❄️

Fuji X100V Daily Photos

Fuji X100V Daily So I decided to build a blog about daily photos with my beautiful Fuji X100V I have been a Fuji X photographer for over 10 years and especially the X100. The fixed lens really helps with creativity This image was shot underneath my car port The top light really helped with the shadows I have found walking out and about with my camera a mindful experience, it helps you balance with nature and slow down in this difficult world. The leaves above seem to show sadness at the change of the seasons resting peacefully on a fallen tree  Exposure wise for those that are photographers 1/30 sec shutter speed f 3.6 ISO 500, it’s easy to handhold the X100V for a shot like this. I suppose some would ask why not use a phone for these shots? I understand this but being a photographer you need to use a camera!

Macro photography

So this is a new passion for me - macro photography. The Olympus OMD EM1 MK3 has a great macro set up with the 60mm f2.8 macro lens. I also acquired a great flash diffuser to use with my Pixapro 350 flash. Here are some images Macro photography is a specialized form of close-up photography that focuses on capturing extremely detailed images of small subjects, typically at a magnification ratio of 1:1 or higher. The primary goal of macro photography is to reveal intricate details that are not easily visible to the naked eye, highlighting the beauty and complexity of the miniature world. Key features of macro photography: Magnification: The main characteristic that sets macro photography apart is the high level of magnification it achieves. This means that the subject appears life-size or larger on the camera sensor, showcasing even the tiniest details with exceptional clarity. Small Subjects: Macro photography primarily involves capturing subjects that are relatively small, such as inse...

More bird photography recently

I took some time out to walk around my village here in Haddenham. I often go out for "birding" walks as I call them, I have studied the locality and behaviour of the local bird life. This has helped with the shot of the Blue Tit as I was waiting for one to alight just where he sat so this worked well I have been doing images lately with my Olympus OMD EM1-X and an old 50-200 Olympus lens with the 1.4 converter which gives a real magnification of 585mm a good birding lens
